A building per se is a parasite. It claims space, clings to electricity, water, gas, and all systems of the city. This parasite must be transformed into a symbiont; only then can we talk about good architecture and a functioning community.

There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke. But you and I, we’ve been through that, and this is not our fate. So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.

To inhabit the world poetically or to inhabit the world humanely, in essence, it’s the same thing.
